History
North County Oral & Facial Surgery Center was founded in May 1994 by Gerald P. Unhold, D.M.D., M.D. In April 2000, North County Oral & Facial Surgery Center merged with Walter C. Johnson, D.D.S. who had been in the practice of oral surgery for 32 years in Escondido. That practice was originally established by Lorenz de Julien, D.D.S. Thus we have maintained the oldest continuing operating oral surgery practice in North San Diego County.
We are a multi-doctor oral & maxillofacial surgery practice providing evaluation and treatment of conditions that affect the teeth, soft tissue and bone of the mouth, jaws and facial regions. Our specialty involves procedures that include extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafts to restore the alveolar (bone) ridge, oral and facial reconstruction and corrective jaw surgery. We diagnose and treat oral lesions and jaw injuries. We also offer intravenous (IV) sedation for your comfort.
