Meet Dr. Ian S. McDonald

Oral Surgeon Ian S. McDonald, D.M.D., M.D. earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Boston University. He received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine, graduating 3rd in his class. Dr. McDonald completed a six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, while receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from New Jersey Medical School and graduating in the top 3rd of his class. He also completed a one-year general surgery internship at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. He has authored scientific articles and a book chapter on maxillofacial trauma. He is a licensed physician in the state of California and holds an oral surgery & anesthesia permit from the California Dental Board. Dr. McDonald joined North County Oral & Facial Surgery Center in July 2000. In his spare time he works on his golf game and also enjoys scuba diving and spending time with his family.
