Dr. Gibbs, a Brooklyn native raised near Philadelphia, earned his B.A. in English and minor in Chemistry from Wake Forest University, followed by a doctorate from Temple University School of Dentistry. He completed a general practice residency at the University of Southern California, an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, and an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Howard University Hospital.
Dr. Gibbs is double board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. For the past decade, he has served as an attending at Yale’s oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program, as a director of its resident literature series, and as an admissions committee member.
Dr. Gibbs is uniquely trained and credentialed in advanced anesthesia, allowing him to provide enhanced comfort and safety for children and adults who experience significant anxiety or require deeper sedation.
Dr. Gibbs is passionate about oral surgery and his private practice centers on the principles of safety, comfort and reproducible outcomes. His clinical expertise includes pediatric and adult anesthesia, implants, orthognathic surgery, trauma, and pathology. He is excited to join the renowned surgical team of NCOFSC and is looking forward to serving a new community of patients and helping them achieve their surgical goals.
Outside of surgery, Dr. Gibbs enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, exploring new cuisines, reading, writing, sports, and traveling—having visited 40 countries and lived in Germany and Australia.
